Integrating Media in Pedagogy

Graphic design itself is heavily tied to digital media. It’s an essential component of our practice, but as educators, are we leveraging technology enough to push graphic design pedagogy to the next level? What are some innovative models? This panel will be looking for presentations that examine methodological, theoretical, and practical implications of the marriage of technology and graphic design pedagogy.

Increases in bandwidth and improved compression technologies, coupled with cost effective hardware and software, have made digital media an ever more integral part of our students lives. There are new opportunities to use technology as a delivery system to create vibrant learning experiences. We will be reviewing trends that challenge traditional studio instructional methods and work to change, perhaps even evolve, the very relationship between student and teacher.
