It is really inspiring to see the work of a designer who worked for formal beauty. In looking at the posters of Zdeněk Ziegler you get a sense of how he just feels it...or how did he put it..? "There's something in the air." Something along those lines... His posters for Czech and American films are beautifully made without losing a sense of experimentation or freedom in making. His posters also capture a sensitivity to the artistic quality of designing and typesetting, and I think a little of that won't hurt anybody. Such great stuff. AND! It's all hand made...makes me want to unplug the apple for a while.
